Who We Are
Edo Language Academy (ELA) is a formally registered language education platform, incorporated in Nigeria under company number 8731222. We are an online institution dedicated to helping Edo (Bini) children, teenagers, and adults — especially those in the diaspora — to speak, read, and write Edo with confidence and pride.
Our academy was founded on the conviction that language is the heartbeat of culture. As Edo communities spread across the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, and beyond, the risk of language loss grows with each generation. ELA exists to reverse that trend — providing a warm, structured, and modern learning environment that makes Edo easy, engaging, and consistent for every learner.
Through live Saturday classes, comprehensive session recordings, module-based assessments, and a supportive community, we ensure every learner can progress at their own pace while remaining deeply connected to their cultural roots. Upon successful completion of all assessments, learners receive an officially issued Edo Language Academy certificate, recognised as a mark of genuine language proficiency.
Why We Exist
The Challenge
Diaspora families want their children to retain Edo language and identity, but lack structured instruction, quality materials, and a consistent community to foster learning. Parents often cannot teach reliably due to time constraints, pronunciation uncertainty, or confidence barriers. Schools rarely offer Edo, so children gradually lose fluency and cultural connection across generations.
